“Is that- did you buy a Pride flag?”
“Yup!” Cas beamed as he walked a small circle around the coffee table, eyes zeroing in on one of the walls, “this wall has been boring white for too long.” He jumped up onto the couch beside the hunter and tried to hold the flag up against the wall. After a moment of struggling, he nudged Dean’s leg with his foot, “I know Sam’s the tall one, but can you at least pretend to help?”
“Uh, yeah, sorry,” Dean sprang up from the couch, confusion not leaving him as he reached over his lover’s head to hold the flag against the wall. He chewed his lip for a moment, “And w-why did you buy a Pride flag?”
Cas didn’t bother to answer as he hopped off the couch, heading for the kitchen, “Stay there.” He came back in after a few minutes, holding up a roll of tape. “Okay, let’s try this again.”
He wasted no time in hopping back up on the couch and began taping one corner of the flag to the wall.
Dean cleared his throat, “Cas?”
“Yeah?”
“Why did you get a flag?”
“Well, you know how we’re together?” Cas poked out his tongue as he finished the corner, “The humans call that ‘gay’.” He reached across Dean’s arm in an attempt to tape the other corner, “and this flag represents that.”
Dean rolled his eyes, “I know what it means.” He took the piece of tape from his love and taped the corner with ease, “I meant-”
