“I can’t believe you’ve never done laundry before,” Sam shook his head as they pulled up to the laundry mat.

Dean rolled his eyes as he parked the car, “I can’t believe you’re still talking about this.”

“How have I never noticed?”

“Because I’m smarter than you.” He shot his brother a wink as he got out of the car.

“But… you’ve gone to do laundry alone,” Sam followed him out, brows creased in confusion, “How did you return with clean clothes?”

The blonde shrugged as he grabbed the duffle of dirty clothes out of the back, “Let’s just say laundry mats are a good place to pick up chicks.”

Sam rolled his eyes, bristling as they started toward the door, “Yeah, well, you won’t be picking anyone up today.”

Dean stopped them mid-stride, placing a hand on his shoulder, “Dude, c’mon. That’s not what I meant.”

“It’s fine,” The giant slid out from under the hand, and held the door open for his lover, “Today is purely educational.”

Dean let out a heavy sigh as he entered, bee-lining for one of the machines that was furthest from the door. As he dropped the duffle down on top of it, he paused as he noticed his brothers’ expression, “… What?”

“Nothing,” Sam shook his head as he approached, “It’s just funny to see you in Hunter Mode even when doing mundane things.”

“Yeah, well, dying in a laundry mat is not the way I plan on going.”

Sam chuckled before looking over the machine, “Okay, first things first: Do you know how to turn it on?”

“Pfft, please.”

“Dean.”

“Sorry,” the blonde took a serious look at the machine in front of him, before glancing back to his brother, “I’m gonna go out on a limb and say it’s the button that says ‘Start’?”

“Very good.”

“Sam.”

“Hey,” he held his hands up in mock surrender, “I need to know where to start the lesson.” At the disbelieving look, the giant gestured to the machine, “You know so much? Okay, fine. Turn it on.”

The blonde rolled is eyes before touching the Start button, smirk wiping off his face as the machine didn’t whir to life. He pushed the button again, more forcefully, brows knitting together as it still didn’t turn on. He shook the machine before practically punching the button, huffing in annoyance as it stayed silent, “Well this one is obviously broken!”

“It’s not broken.” Sam pointed to the coin slots in the side of the machine, “You brought the change, right?”

“Yeah,” the blonde dug a small bag of coins out of his pocket.

“Okay, good. Put those in the slots and then push them into the machine.”

He waited a moment as his brother did so, before he pushed the start button again, letting out an exasperated sigh as nothing happened, again, “Okay, so… it is broken?”

“No,” Sam did his best to hold in his laughter as he pointed to the dials next to the button, “You have to tell it what kind of load you’re doing.”

Dean raised his eyebrows in mild surprise before shrugging, “Well-”

The giant rolled his eyes, “Not that kind of load.” He pointed the first dial, “Are we doing colours, whites or delicates?”

“Uhm…” Dean unzipped the duffle, rifling through the clothes in the bag, “is there a flannel and jeans option?”

Sam shook his head, chuckling slightly, “That would be ‘colours’. So, turn the dial so it’s set to that option.”

Dean reached out to turn the dial, letting out an exasperated sigh as it didn’t move, “Dude, what the hell?”

Sam reached out his hand – grabbing the dial on top of his brothers’ – before pushing the dial in, and turning it to the correct setting.

“Well how the hell am I supposed to know to push the dial in before turning it?”

“It’s just… you know what? Nevermind.” The giant pointed to the next dial, “Do you know what load size we have?”

Dean let out a chuckle, before swallowing it down as he saw the unamused expression on his brothers’ face, “Uhm… I don’t know. A duffle full?”

Sam picked up the duffle, weighing it a moment before nodding, “Better set it to Large, just to be safe.”

Dean grabbed the dial, raising an eyebrow at his brother as he tried to push it in, and it didn’t budge, “Okay, what the hell?”

Sam did his best to contain is laughter, “No, this one you have to pull out.”

Dean raised an eyebrow, “Seriously?”

“Yeah.”

“Well, why?”

Inspired by the song So Close from the movie Enchanted. Listen to it here!

NFF, Song!Fic, Fluff

You take in a sharp breath as he extends his arm to you, raising an eyebrow as the music starts. I can’t believe it, you take his hand, unable to pry your eyes away from the look on his face, I’ve never seen him look so… happy.

He pulls you in, eyes not leaving yours as the two of you begin to move. He leads you backward, and you’re surprised at yourself you don’t fumble and fall on your ass. We’re both secretly bad-ass ballroom dancers… who knew? You try to swallow your smile at your own dumb joke as you move in perfect time to the beat – definitely more graceful than anything else you’ve ever done – and you can’t help but momentarily think of all the grand dance scenes in rom-coms you’ve seen as the two lovers finally get their happy ending.

Is this what that feels like? You resist the urge to glance at the guests, heart beating so loud you can barely hear the music over it. You feel as though you’re flying around the room, barely registering what your body is doing, and part of you hopes someone was smart enough to bring a camera, as if anyone would believe this happened without video proof.

Your breath catches as he flashes you that soft smile of his – the one reserved for sleepy mornings and staying in bed cuddles – and you can’t help but beam back at him. I never would’ve thought I’d be in the middle of a scene like this. You make a brief mental note to write down your emotions so you can recall them for later needs, and continue dancing. He twirls you then, and as your hand finds his again you swell with pride, after everything we’ve been through… I can’t believe we’re finally here.

An overwhelming wave of love surges through you and you can’t help but pull yourself in closer, so you’re barely a hair apart. You rest your head against his chest just as the music begins to fade, and you can’t help but smile as you feel his heart beat is synced with yours. Guess it’s true what they say…

A deafening roar of applause breaks you out of your moment and your eyes focus on the crowd of family and friends. You feel your cheeks heat up as you’re suddenly pulled back into the now and give them a sheepish smile. He leads you to your table, that soft smile slipping off his face in place of his usual social mask and you find yourself wishing your dress had sleeves to hide your goose bumps, I can’t believe everyone saw that…

“Wow!” Your best friend swipes at her eyes as you come closer, “I never knew you were so… I mean,” she turned to your other bridesmaids, at a loss for words, for once. She sniffed and shook her head, “I take back everything I’ve ever said about you not being romantic. That was just… wow.

You chuckle and wave a dismissive hand at her, eyes on his retreating back as he goes to greet his own family, “Yeah, well, don’t expect to see anything like that again anytime soon. I should be good until I’m dead now.”

She shoves you in a playful way before crushing you against her, “You’ve gotta write that down for me.”

You smile at her as the two of you take your seat, heart fluttering as your eyes catch his from across the room, definitely.

You stumble as you hit a crack in the sidewalk and nearly face plant. You luckily catch yourself and look around, feeling your cheeks heat up, stupid heels. You shake your head, before digging your compact out of your purse, checking to make sure you didn’t dislodge any of your carefully placed hair curls. Oh thank God. You sigh in relief as you see you didn’t mess up your hair and replace the compact, would’ve sucked if I did all this just for it to get messed up five minutes before he sees it.

You turn up the driveway and feel a small knot begin to form in your stomach. What if he doesn’t like it? You resist the urge to chew your lip as you climb up the porch steps, don’t think like that. He’s the one who suggested dressing up, remember? You shake your head at yourself as you go to knock, hand pausing in mid-air.

Why are you psyching yourself out? You know you look awesome. Don’t forget what that guy at the bus shelter said. You look smokin’! You swallow down your chuckle at the memory and take a deep breath before knocking.

“I got it!” You hear some rustling and hurried footsteps before the door swings open, revealing the wrong brother.

“Hey, Sam.” You give him a small smile and lean slightly to see around him, “… Is Dean ready?”

Sam gives you a once over, sly smile creeping up his face and he steps aside, “Almost.”

The knot in your stomach grows and you wonder if in your three hour getting ready routine you remembered deodorant. You go to take a step over the lip of the door and nearly face plant again, “Fuck!” You glare at it, “Stupid door.”

Sam catches your hand easily and chuckles, eyes on your shoes, “You sure that was the doors’ fault?”

Sabriel, Fluff

“Sa-am!” Gabriel bounded down the stairs toward the front door, “Come on!”

“Will you relax?” Sam came out of the kitchen, lifting the bag of snacks onto his shoulder, “I’m almost certain the beach will still be there.”

“What if it’s not?” The shorter man fake pouted as he slipped on his flip flops, “Do you really want another bowling alley fiasco?”

Definitely not, Sam chuckled at the memory as the ball of energy adjusted the duck floaty he had around his waist, “Why are you so interested in going to the beach anyway?”

“I… have my reasons,” Gabriel winked and wretched the door open, narrowly hitting the giant in the face.

“Gabriel-”

“To the beach!”

Gabriel smushed his face up against the glass of the bus, eyes wide with excitement as they passed the sandy shore. He pulled the string so hard Sam was worried he was going to break it.

“Okay, c’mon,” Sam stood up with the bag, extending his hand out to the angel.

Gabriel took the hand and stumbled behind the giant to the back door, slamming his shoulder into the pole as the driver stopped the bus, asshole.

“Gabriel, you can’t say that to the driver,” Sam hissed as they got off.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Gabriel brushed off as he hurried off toward the sand.

“Hey,” Sam caught his arm before he could get away, “you can’t call the driver an asshole. You don’t want to say the wrong thing to the wrong guy.”

“I didn’t say anything, Sammy.”

“Gabriel, please.”

“What? Sammich, I’m not lying. I didn’t say anything.”

Gabriel bounded off toward the beach, leaving Sam standing on the sidewalk confused. Why does he keep saying that? He didn’t say anything, I heard him, Sam shook his head and started off toward the shorter man, trying to put the pieces together, He didn’t say anything…

C’mon Sammich. Put it together so we can have fun.

Sabriel

“You’re insane!”

Gabriel just winked at the giant before turning back to the vines in front of him.

“We’re gonna get caught!”

“Not if you shut up about it!”

Sam shook his head, what’s wrong with him? Gabe said he had a surprise for their first wedding anniversary that Sam was sure to love – and he appreciated the gesture, really, he did – but it wasn’t like Gabe could’ve known the bowling alley they had their first date in all those years ago was shut down – not like it was doing that well when we’d went to begin with – so they were both understandably disheartened seeing it was now abandoned. Nothing to do, right? It’s not like either of them had bolt cutters.

So when Gabe also suggested Sam ‘wait here while I find a way in’ well, he knew he was in for a wild night. Did he think his better half was going to attempt scaling the side of the building? Absolutely fucking not. And yet…

“Yo, Sammich, quit daydreaming! You’re supposed to be a look out.”

“Pfft nobody’s around, relax,” he took a pre-emptive look around anyway, just in case.

“He says to the guy scaling a building.”

“You knew what I meant!” The giant took a charged step forward as the man slipped, “Be careful, will you? I’d hate to spend the night burying you.”

“I know something you wouldn’t mind burying.”

Sam rolled his eyes, of course he had to go there… when he turned back to the wall, his eyebrows rose in surprise, his beloved was no longer hanging there, oh no… Sam rushed closer to the base of the wall, frantic eyes searching the dark, you didn’t fall, you didn’t fall, you didn’t-

Jumping with surprise at the sound of rattling chains, he turned to his left and saw his lover, giant smirk on his face as the chains fell from the gate. He threw the gate open with all his strength, smile only growing as they clashed loudly against the sides of the wall.

Sam smacked his arm, sighing with relief, “Don’t do that!”

“What can I say, Sammy?” He linked the giants’ arm in his before leading them to the front door of the bowling alley, “I’m good at finding a way in.”

Destiel, fluff

“De-an!”

The sing-song voice floated up the stairs, disrupting the ex-hunters’ sleep. He groaned and rolled over, burying his head beneath the pillow.

He removed the pillow and sniffed the air after a moment, stomach rumbling as the scent hit his nose, pancakes? Dean shot up, sniffing the air more intently, chocolate chip pancakes? He rolled out of bed, ignoring the goose bumps that broke out across his skin as the cold air him him, it’s not my birthday… he grabbed a shirt off the doorknob before freezing at the top of the stairs, shit… is it our anniversary?

He scrambled back to the bedroom, nearly falling over himself to get a look at the calendar. Thank God, he deflated with relief as he saw it wasn’t their anniversary, that could’ve been so bad. He ran a hand through his hair, blowing out a breath, okay, if it’s not our anniversary, then why is he making pancakes?

The blonde turned from the calendar and started back toward the stairs, only one way to find out… He began down the stairs slowly, keeping his eyes and ears open for any indication of whatever it was he was missing. He rounded the corner and leaned himself against the doorframe in the kitchen, watching as the raven-haired man ladled batter onto the flat top. The blondes’ eyes roamed over the table, nothing out of the ordinary…

“There you are!” Cas gave him a thousand-watt smile and placed a plate piled high with pancakes down on the table, arching an eyebrow, “Well?” He gestured to the chair before spinning back around to the stove, “They’re gonna get cold.”

“Sorry,” the blonde took a seat, starring at the stack in front of him, smell enveloping his senses, man they smell good. “What’s the occasion?”

“Why are you being such a baby about this?” Sam raised a questioning eyebrow, “Just come with us.”

“Why won’t you take no for answer?” Lucifer grit his teeth, hands balling into fists before he disappeared into thin air.

Whoa, The hunter sat on the edge of the couch, running a hand through his hair, what the hell was that about?

Hey.

Sam sat up in bed, looking around the dark room, hey.

Relax, I’m not there.

Oh, he settled back against the pillows, going back to his laptop, are you ready to tell me what the hell that was all about?

He heard a sigh, and could picture the fallen angel scrubbing a hand down his face, I shouldn’t of got that worked up.

No shit.

But you should’ve stopped pushing it, too.

I wasn’t trying to push you. Sams’ stopped on the line he was reading, not actually taking in the information anyway, I just thought you’d have fun. And I’d really like it if you came with us.

I know… I just… I can’t…

Can’t what?
